Selling to the Warha Dating system

Most of you already know how dates are made in wargames but this is in case someone is either new or completely new to wh40k this is so you can understand the dates that I will use.

Naturally, this story has two different dates ours and 40k.

I think we all know our own if you don then Im not sure what to say.

But today is the 11th day of July 2022 A.D this same calendar is used in 40k but modified.

War hammer has two date systems one that is based on our gregorian calendar and the other based on the emergence of the great rift.

So lets show you how dates work!

Earth 16:33 11th July 2022 our system.

X525022M3 40k system.

Now lest split them.

X or 0 means that even takes place on earth these are known as check marks and are used by the Adeptus terra.

These won be used by me so you don need to bother refreshing yourself or anything but the wiki has the info if you wanna check it.

Now year fractions 525 these also used by the Adeptus are basically the day and time of the event. Its kinda complex for a calendar but hey its 40k so don even question the holy calendar of the emperor which many don even know how it came to be.

Then we have year 022 which ranges from 001-999 there is no year 0 so yeah.

Millennium M3 refers to which thousand-year we are in. Just like our own century dating, we appear to always be a century above the current time.

The same applies to 40k

While it may be 999.M41 in our system its only

40,999.

Currently, 40k is now in the new millennium early M42 which is now estimated to be 41,025 A.D

This system has become useless and distorted just like all of the emperors creations a new system was made by worlds near the great rift.

The system works quite simply by dividing time into segments of 8 earth hours. The calendar uses post for after the rifts emergence or also seen as a and previo or - for before the rift.

The system a year and eight hours before the rift can look like this. -1.1/ 1.1 previo.

But I will mostly use our dating system and the Imperial one mostly unless the character lives near the rift you will nearly hear it.
