The workshop was littered with machines, from small boxes that glowed a dim light to large orbs that seemed to be miniature stars. Odin looked around the items and then focused on the many tablets he had been working on.
It had been three days since he started his warp drive project and he had made little progress. Currently, he was trying to get any bit of knowledge from the tablets. There was bound to be a scientist on the ark and their tablet should be there, but it seemed useless as after 100 tablets there was nothing useful.
The emergence of STC was a great thing for humanity. They contained the sum of all human knowledge in a portable form. It allowed even a cave dweller to make lasguns, fortified bunkers, and interstellar warships. They were made to last and be made out of very little material. This led to their being little need for repairs and specialists as the machine took care of it.
This was also a reason for the cybernetic revolt humanity had become too arrogant and relied on the men of iron for most work. This, in turn, made humanity very weak against themselves, as they never expected it.
As most colony worlds lived simple lives and needed few things, there was no need to truly progress further, or at least for the world to, as most of the scientific minds resided on Mars and made discoveries as they explored the galaxy.
These events and others eventually led to the downfall of humanity and in the ashes of humanity rose the imperium of man.
The ark was huge, but it didn contain many functioning technologies. Odin had only gotten 234 tablets, and each varied on how corrupted or broken they were. From his estimate, the most functioning one only had 37% of its data uncorrupted, so it was hard to find much and some were scattered so it was unintelligible.
Another problem was the language barrier. This technology was from thousands of years in the future and language had changed. While it was a combination of some notable ones, there were still unknown words he had to guess.
